As their ninth CD single, "Mephisto" was released in Japan on May 17. The music video depicting the idol "Avu-chi" was directed by Sayaka Nakane, who has worked with the band on all of their music videos since their third single in 2018, "HALF."
In addition to the members of QUEEN BEE, Karin Ono, who won the Best New Actor Award at the 46th Japan Academy Prize by her performance in Haken Anime!, plays the role of idol manager Shiori Shindo.
"Mephisto is the devil of wishes," Avu-chan said in a press release. "In this music video, we present 'Idol Shura no Michi' (The Idol World of Fighting and Slaughter)' with a player! With my favorite actress, Karin Ono-san, who talked to Avu-chan, 'I always listen to your song!," during the Japan Academy Prize award ceremony, we pushed ourselves to the limit physically and mentally! We hope you will watch it again and again!"
