Mitch Landrieu Has A Message For Voters: 'Show The Hell Up'

Source: www.newsy.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Watch Video JAMAL: "To get started, is there any candidacy you would like to announce here today?" LANDRIEU: "Not today. … But if I do, you'll be, you'll be the first to know." Mitch Landrieu is the former mayor of New Orleans. But according to some political pundits, he's an ideal candidate for  a higher-profile political office . Landrieu made the bold choice to remove four prominent Confederate statues from his city while the Confederate monument debate was in full swing across the country. That, along with a few  favorable   profile   pieces , has launched his name into the 2020 conversation.  But Landrieu says his focus right now, like many in the Democratic Party, is Nov. 6.  LANDRIEU: "You have to win elections. Which means you have to show up and vote. Now, it is true that there's a lot of voter suppression going on, and that's bad. They're really trying to peel back the Voting

Pat Robertson Claims Obama Made Migrant Babies Citizens

Source: crooksandliars.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 On Tuesday's 700 Club , Pat Robertson opened the program by praising Trump for already issuing an executive order (he hasn't as of yet) that strips babies of their birthright citizenship and claiming President Obama just willy-nilly allowed them to become citizens. Pat Robertson was defending Trump's claim that babies born in the United States that are from foreign countries shouldn't be entitled to the rights of a U.S. citizen, ignoring the U.S. Constitution in the process . Pat uses almost every vile and racist description of a migrant that he can in just under a minute. Robertson said, "If an illegal alien runs across the border to America and then has a baby, does that baby become a citizen of the United States, subject to welfare and all the benefits our citizens have?" He continued, " Under Obama, the answer was yes. So the undocumented alien just to get across the border and give birth means

G-Unit – “Come Up” [LISTEN]

Source: hiphopwired.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 After dropping a gang of freestyles that proved their reunion wasn’t a one-off deal, G-Unit drops a sort of original tune called “Come Up.” We only say “sort of” because song’s instrumental liberally samples The Gap Band’s hit “Outstanding.” Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Kidd Kidd and 50 Cent take turns dropping bars over the familiar groove while Ferrari himself handles the chorus. Vintage G-Unit vibes on this one. Does this get you anticipating their new mixtape or proper new album, which 50 says is coming in November or December ? Bump in the Night: The Thrills and Spills of AOONI THE ANIMATION

Choosing an anime to watch shouldn't be as difficult as settling on the subject of a group project for a high school cultural fest (or out-running a strange ogre with a terrible craving for human flesh), but with such a wealth of streaming titles to choose from, sometimes finding the right show to suit your mood can be a daunting task.   In this survival-horror metaphor, let “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog” be your friendly academic advisor. Each week we provide additional info and cultural context for an entry in Crunchyroll's library of titles to help anime fans decide whether or not they'd like to give it a try, and this week we're focusing on a feature that may put people in the Halloween mood.       What's AOONI THE ANIMATION ?   AOONI THE ANIMATION is a 2017 3DCG anime film with direction by Toshiro Hamamura and animation production by Studio Deen. New Jersey Rapper Says 50 Cent Jacked Her Beat

Source: hiphopwired.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 PineappleCITI (stylized with a lower case P), a New Jersey rapper, has accused 50 Cent of stealing a track from her for his upcoming Gucci Mane -assisted “On Something” track. The song in question, “Rose Colored,” was discussed between both parties last year but pineappleCITI says she was taken aback by the fact Fif was moving on with the track without official business getting handled. By way of her @TheyLoveCity Instagram page, the young rapper unveiled a series of videos explaining the saga that’s unfolding between her camp and 50 Cent’s team. If the accounts on her page are true, it appears that G-Unit officials reached out about acquiring the beat for pineappleCITI’s bubbly track last year and it looked like things were moving ahead. However, things apparently are not on the up and up between pineappleCITI and 50 considering what can be seen below but there apparently was an offer made by the G-Unit side to have her featured o

These are the biggest 2018 ballot measures on elections, voting rights, gerrymandering, and more

Source: www.dailykos.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Republican gerrymandering, voter suppression, and our very electoral system itself often present great challenges to preserving free and fair elections in America, but voters will get the chance to weigh in on many key ballot measures in November that could help fix these problems—or exacerbate them. Below, we take a look at the most important ballot measures that affect redistricting, voting rights, and campaign finance, and what their impact could be . Among this year's biggest election-related ballot measures are five that would reform redistricting in Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, and Utah. These measures would impact both congressional and legislative redistricting except in Missouri, where only the legislative line-drawing would be affected. (In Colorado, one measure pertains to Congress and a separate one to the legislature.) While the specifics in each case differ— you can delve into the details in this backgrounder —t

The Democrats’ Closing Argument: Community Over Cruelty

Source: crooksandliars.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Ever since Donald Trump infamously descended that escalator and talked about Mexicans as rapists -- and became the Republican frontrunner as a result -- our country has moved more and more in the direction of bigotry, cruelty, and chaos. Now, as we say in the Midwest, the chickens are coming home to roost. Mail bombs, the cold-blooded execution of two black men, and the horrific shooting at the synagogue in Pittsburgh, all in the closing weeks of the midterms, sending us a signal of what is to come if we lose this election. It is time to put a stop to this madness, and the only way to do that is for Democrats to win. President Trump denies responsibility, but he and his party are running hysterical ads attacking wealthy Jews as puppeteers, migrant armies marching on our border, and Democrats as assassins. The right-wing media, the same outlets lovingly quoted by Trump, are infested with one conspiracy theory after another -- th

Scriptural examples supporting claim of Bible as word of God

Source: discourse.biologos.org - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 @Truth_Seeker @mitchellmckain I agree with a human view of Genesis 6:1-4, but don’t expect internal consistency throughout the Bible. 1 Peter 3:20 uses the word psyche for human souls on Noah’s Ark, but the verse before uses the word pneuma for the spirits who were disobedient before the flood. It is inconsistent and confusing for an author to use two different words to refer to human spirits in the same passage, and it makes more sense to assume that these spirits are non-human spirits. Also, the word phylake (prison) used in the passage is never used for a prison for human souls, but is used for the prison of Satan in the book of Revelation. All Related Source: Breaking News

6 ways your vote could be hacked during the midterms

Source: www.geekwire.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 (U.S. State Dept. Photo) We know every vote counts, but will your vote actually be counted? Or will it be hacked? I’ve spent the last several months reporting on election hacking for my podcast Breach , and I’ve learned a lot: Mostly that vote “hacking” is a much broader problem than people realize. While lots of attention has been paid to the hacking of electronic voting machines themselves, elections can be hacked months before, or months after, voting day. Here’s a look at the entire life cycle of your vote, and all the places it can be hacked along the way: Step 1: Deciding to vote The voting process begins when people decide to vote (or, they don’t), and register. The enemies of democracy spend a lot of time trying to convince citizens that their vote doesn’t count, that people shouldn’t even bother going to the polls. Encouraging apathy is actually step one. How does that happen? Through disinformation campaigns — state-spon

Was the trade for Amari Cooper really made to evaluate Dak Prescott more extensively?

Source: thefranchiseok.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Author: Clarence E. And that finally having the presence of a No. 1 receiver would help the Cowboys evaluate Prescott as their quarterback of the future. Owner Jerry Jones debunked both of those myths on his radio show on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday. Beyond ‘Don’t Do Drugs,’ City-Wide Opioid Summit Uses Music, Stories To Reach Youth

Source: wfpl.org - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 Drug overdoses deaths in Kentucky have been rising steadily since 2013, and this makes the task of reaching young people even more urgent for health and community advocates. That’s why on Tuesday, Jefferson County Public Schools, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation held a city-wide summit on opioids for 8th and 9th graders. It wasn’t quite the traditional “don’t do drugs” talk; instead, it featured a capella group Linkin’ Bridge and lots of personal stories from people — including members of Linkin’ Bridge — about drug use, and how it affected their lives. The message seemed to have sunk in for some, like 8th grader Avyon Douglas, who goes to Johnson Middle School. “I learned a lot, that drugs [are] really killing people and that we should try to spread the world and tell people to not do drugs,” she said. In the NBA, the decline and the fall of the West is coming quicker than you think

Source: www.theguardian.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 LeBron James has headed to LA and the Western Conference has the Warriors and Rockets. But age and Anthony Davis could change the league’s gravity One of the unexamined truths of the modern NBA is that the Western Conference is better than the Eastern Conference, a theory given fuel by events like Monday’s Warriors v Bulls game , in which the Warriors ran up 90 points by half-time. But sometimes West > East gets talked about as if it’s the NBA’s natural resting state – as if water always finds its level, and that the NBA’s level will tilt West for years to come, as predictably as the tides, which, by the way, are much nicer and warmer in the West.  If you really pick at it, people will give you reasons, but none of them make any sense because the notion itself is nonsensical. Kanter, who has been practicing constitutional law in San Diego for nearly 40 years, was critical of Trump's idea. "For a president to say all of the sudden I'm going to change it, it's a broad step, I think a very dangerous step, it's too much power," said Kanter. Trying to Avoid Paying $400 for an OWC SSD

Source: apple.stackexchange.com - Tuesday, October 30, 2018 I can’t find an “affordable” compatible 1TB SSD for a 2010/2011 MacBook Air #A1370 other than on OWC for a pricey $400. I don’t want to spend this kind of coin on it so I’ve been looking for a workaround, which I think I did but wondering if someone here has done the same thing that I’m about to do? I have been doing a lot of research and I found a Sintech adapter that fits a M.2 mSATA triple prong 1TB SSD (many priced around $150) into a 6/12 Pin mSata connector. My concerns here now is that the Sintech PCB is longer and if the length of that adapter will overlap or obstruct other components on the board? And the added thickness of the PCB adapter now holding the new SSD PCB chip may make it too thick for the bottom pan to close perhaps? Lastly the Apple controller has to fully handshake the new SSD’s controller to get true 6gb speeds. If the new SSD controller is not that compatible as in the case of OWC’s Sandforce control

Delicate days for England as they head into November series | Robert Kitson

Source: www.theguardian.com - Wednesday, October 31, 2018 With less than 12 months to the World Cup, Eddie Jones’s squad cannot afford to treat autumn Tests as mere sparring sessions There are two schools of thought before the November internationals. According to Eddie Jones, the Tests are mere sparring sessions as preparation for next year’s World Cup in Japan. Those who have paid serious money to watch the All Blacks tackle England and Ireland beg to differ, preferring here and now evidence to pie in the sky potential. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Rare is the northern hemisphere side who drag their feet through the autumn leaves and still go on to conquer the world within 12 months. There is a particularly strong correlation between England’s November form and their World Cup destiny stretching back years. House Democrats look for win in California farm belt

Source: wtop.com - Tuesday, October 30, 2018 MODESTO, Calif. (AP) — In California’s Central Valley, the nation’s great fruit-and-nut basket, voters like Lou Waller could help determine which party controls the U.S. House. The 76-year-old retiree is an independent, the fastest-growing political affiliation in California. They make up nearly a quarter of voters in the 10th Congressional District, which has been flooded with campaign cash as Republican Rep. Jeff Denham tries to stop Democrat Josh Harder from taking his job. Harder has pulled in over $6 million and Denham $4.5 million. At least 26 outside groups have spent another $10 million trying to influence the race, according to California Target Book, which analyzes campaigns. The region known for producing cherries, grapes and almonds has long been sundered by political fights over water policy and immigration, but this year it’s another issue that convinced Waller to support the incumbent. “It all stems from the Kavanaugh hearing
