JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Faces the Music for Stage Musical Adaptation

  Masks, soliloquys , artist-inspired names, wild taste in theme songs, general flamboyance… if you ask me, a stage adaptation of Hirohiko Araki's eternal JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga has been long overdue. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater Live-Action Drama Releases New Trailer

  The official YouTube channel for NTT Docomo's newly-launched streaming service Lemino started streaming the first 60-second trailer for the upcoming live-action web drama  Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater , adapting Yasuyuki Kosaka's fishing-themed manga series. Golden Kamuy Author Satoru Noda's New Ice Hockey Manga Debuts July 27

  The Young Jump manga anthology magazine announced today that the forthcoming 35th issue of the magazine will debut Satoru Noda's new ice hockey manga on July 27. A teaser image was released and is embedded below.    Satoru Noda's New Hockey Manga Teaser   While the magazine does not explicitly name the new work, Young Jump previously announced the official revival of the  Supinamarada! ice hockey manga in April 2022, following the end of the Golden Kamuy manga.    Supinamarada!  marked Noda's debut as a serialized manga author in 2011, with six compiled volumes released in Japan. Noda debuted his most widely recognized work in Golden Kamuy  in 2014, with the manga series then ended in April 2022. Memorial Screenings to Be Held on June 10 to Celebrate Animator Takahiro Kimura

  In March, the official Code Geass website announced that animation character designer and chief animation director Takahiro Kimura had passed away. To celebrate his life and work, a memorial screening will be held in Tokyo on June 10 with his contemporaries holding a talk where they discuss their memories of him.   Midday screenings:     Night screenings:   The peers in attendance will be  Dirty Pair Flash OVA director Tsukasa Sunaga, Dirty Pair Flash II director Tomomi Mochizuki, T he King of Braves GaoGaiGar director Yoshitomo Yonetani and Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi. Suzume Anime Film Ends Japanese Box Office Run Becoming 8th Highest-Grossing Anime Film in Japan

  After a historic run at the Japanese box office, Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume finally ended its theatrical journey on Sunday in Japan, solidifying its place on the all-time charts and in Japanese film history.    As of the film’s final day in Japanese theaters, May 28, Suzume made 14.79 billion yen on the back of over 11.15 million tickets sold, according to Kogyo Tsushin . This makes Suzume the 14th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, the 8th highest-grossing anime film of all time in Japan and the 17th most-watched in Japanese theaters based on ticket sales.     Suzume  is directed by Makoto Shinkai, who also penned the screenplay for the film alongside Masayoshi Tanaka as the character designer, Kenichi Tsuchiya as the animation director and Takumi Tanji as the art director with animation production at CoMix Wave Films.   Suzume  was released in Japan on November 11.   The official website for Dancing☆Star Precure The Stage — the first stage play from Toei Animation's long-running Precure franchise — revealed its six main cast members in their character costumes today.   The franchise has offered character musical shows featuring kigurumi (suit) actors since its launch in 2004, but this is the first stage play performed by non-kigurumi actors and also the first time that all members in a Precure team are male. The website writes: "This time, it is high school boys who transform into Precure!   Voice actor agency I'm Enterprise announced on May 29 that Saori Onishi (Miyako Shikimori in Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie ) will restrict some of her activities due to health issues.   According to the agency, Onishi has recently been experiencing dizziness and difficulty breathing. In consultation with her doctor, she still has been active while canceling some of her appearances. However, to take all possible measures, the agency has decided they must prioritize the recovery of her health. For now, she will continue her activities within her comfort zone.   The agency offers this apology at the end of the statement: "We sincerely apologize to all parties who have been cooperating with us for some time, as well as to all concerned parties and fans, for the great concern and inconvenience this will cause.
