As previously reported, 20-year-old fashion model/actress Riko plays the protagonist, Hina Tsurugi. "When I read the original manga, I found the rapidly changing expressions of the four main characters and the dialogue they delivered to each other are truly endearing," said Riko. "At the same time, I faced the live-action drama, strongly feeling that I wanted to convey the lovability I felt. The entire cast and crew worked together as the 'Breakwater Club,' so I hope that we can deliver the show to many people. Facing my first challenge of fishing, we enjoyed our days with the motto, 'If you catch it, eat it.' Please watch this coming-of-age fishing story of four high school girls!"

The manga is serialized in Akita Shoten's Young Champion Retsu since February 2017 and has released ten tankobon volumes, printing over one million copies in total so far. The TV anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo aired for 12 episodes from April to September 2020, with all episodes available on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll describes the series:

Introverted Hina Tsurugi is trying to adjust to her new school since moving from the countryside. And in spite of her unease around sea life, classmate Yuuki Kuroiwa somehow convinces her to join the Breakwater Fishing Club. She wants to be open to these new friends and experiences, but some of them are as strange as the fish they’re supposed to hook. Is she biting off more than she can chew?
