Oshi no Ko Anime Opening Theme Surpasses 100 Million Streams in Five Weeks

 

Oricon confirmed today that YOASOBI's "Idol" — the opening theme for the spring 2023 TV anime Oshi no Ko — has surpassed 100 million streams in just five weeks since its digital release on April 21. This is the fastest pace in Oricon's history.

In its fifth week, the song recorded 25,632,534 weekly streams and ranked No. 1 in the latest Oricon weekly streaming ranking. The cumulative number of steams has reached 107,713,480. This is YOASOBI's 13th song to surpass the 100 million streams mark in total, and the two-member unit has become the artists with the most songs to surpass 100 million streams.

 

YOASOBI's official Twitter wrote: "'Idol' has surpassed 100 million streams at the fastest pace in history. This song, created through a fateful encounter with the work Oshi no Ko, has shown us many new landscapes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone involved and listening to this song. Thank you for your continued support."

 

 

At the time of reporting, the music video for "Idol" has over 97.86 million views. It seems certain that this one will also cross the 100 million mark within a few days.
