GUNDAM Café in Akihabara Grows Four Times Bigger in July of 2020

Char Aznable's custom red Zaku kicks Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam right in the stomach in a scene from the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam TV anime.

Good news, Gundam fans! The GUNDAM Café, a restaurant and character goods store in Akihabara, is going to get about four times bigger after it closes for renovations in March of 2020 and re-opens in July of 2020. The expansion celebrates the 10th anniversay of the GUNDAM Café, which opened in 2010 with the theme of a "base of operations" for fans of Sunrise's genre-shaping mecha anime franchise.

In addition to the Akihabara location, GUNDAM Café also has branches in Odaiba, Tokyo (opened in 2012), Dōtonbori, Osaka (opened in March of 2019), and Hakata, Fukuoka (opened in November of 2019). The original Akihabara location is located in Hanaoka-cho, Kanda, Chiyoda City, Tokyo, Japan.
