Two R-Type Tactics Strategy-RPGs to Return in Single Remake Release

The first R-Type Tactics game reimagined Irem's classic horizontally-scrolling shoot 'em up series as a turn-based strategy-RPG when it launched on PSP back in 2007. A western release arrived as R -Type Command in 2008, followed by a Japan-only sequel titled R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate in 2009. Now, both games are set to return as remakes in a single release.   The remakes were recently announced during a Granzella Gathering live stream, but unfortunately that's about all we have as far as details are concerned. Right now we know the remakes will include some new elements, so we'll have to stay tuned for info on platforms and release timing.   The full Granzella stream:     Via Gematsu     ------- Joseph Luster is the Games and Web editor at Otaku USA Magazine and the Editor-in-Chief of Sci Fi Magazine. In this episode, we discuss the various ways Supergiant pushed against the ever-present shadow of Bastion in the games design and the studio's production methods. We al
