It's business as usual for the Saudi crown prince at the G20 summit despite the brutal killing of Jamal Khashoggi

Source: uk.businessinsider.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is in Argentina for the G20 summit, alongside many other world leaders. Despite worldwide outrage after the brutal killing of Jamal Khashoggi, the crown prince appears to still have an audience with many prominent world leaders. Many countries have halted arms sales or imposed sanctions on the kingdom. But Saudi Arabia has deep business ties that many other world powers have found hard to break. Business appears to be as normal for Saudi Arabia's crown prince, who is attending the G20 summit in Argentina despite global furor over the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Buenos Aires on Wednesday in preparation for the summit on Friday and Saturday. The summit comes less than two months after Khashoggi's killing in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Riyadh has long sought to distance the crown prince from the incident, despite increasing e

Pokémon Go Teases Trainer Versus Trainer Battles

This morning, the official Pokémon Go twitter account tweeted an image that raises a lot of questions. ❗❗😮 pic.twitter.com/2Zg5PvNUv6 — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) November 30, 2018 The image shows your standard Pokémon Go trainer standing on what appears to be a makeshift arena, like what you would see in the core games or anime when one trainer battles another. This could be a tease for battles against NPC trainers, but the more likely conclusion to jump to is it's a tease for players versus player battles – something that has been conspicuously absent from Pokémon Go since its release in 2016. For more on Pokémon Go, head here for a detailed strategy guide for the whole experience. [Source: @PokemonGoApp ]   Our Take When the game originally launched, players (and I include myself in this group) were flabbergasted that Pokémon Go game did not have trading and battling. They are major components of the series, after all. It was odd, but for me trading was really the

Trump-Xi G20 Talks Don’t Look Promising at the Start

Source: fortune.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 In the G20 summit taking place now in Argentina, probably nothing is attracting as much attention now as the planned talks between Donald Trump of the U.S. and China’s Xi Jinping. The main topic for the two presidents is likely to be the ongoing trade war between the countries. But with tensions going in and a recent move by Trump, it’s unclear whether a face-to-face meeting will result in any improvement. That could have significant impact on the global economy. China and the U.S. only recently restarted trade talks in the escalating trade war as both sides have imposed stiff tariffs that are slowing the two largest economies in the world. About 4% of China's GDP is dependent on what the U.S. buys. At the same time, China is the third largest export market for the U.S., according to the Census Bureau. And the Tax Foundation has estimated the trade war will cost more than 0.12%, in GDP and 94,000 full-time jobs domestically. But Trum

Drake Ghostwrote For Lil Wayne, Per Karrine Steffans

Source: hiphopwired.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 In news that shouldn’t surprise many, Drake ghostwrote, or at least helped with, Lil Wayne’s rhymes. Karrine Steffans aka Superhead apparently has the tea. The notorious groupie turned author shared her insight with DJ Vlad TV. “Wayne told me that Drake had written some things, for him,” Steffans told VladTV . “I was in the studio with Wayne listening to something that Drake had written ’cause Wayne can’t write like that. And he’ll be honest about it. He doesn’t… He only writes a certain way.” The song had been already recorded, and she added, “He was very honest, and he says, ‘I don’t write that way. I don’t know how.’ So Drake was just kind of showing him how to take his ideas and turn them into a story, and to make that story come back around. And that’s a skill. That’s a storytelling skill. [Not] everybody can do that. There was a particular song that Drake had written or helped him write that would help him do that.” Check out t

Trump signs NAFTA replacement deal ahead of the G20 summit

Source: fox61.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 BUENOS AIRES — US President Donald Trump and his Canadian and Mexican counterparts signed a replacement NAFTA deal on Friday during a ceremony on the sidelines of the G20 summit. The ceremonial signing does not mean the United-States-Mexico-Canada Agreement — the USMCA, as it has been rebranded — will now go into effect. The deal still needs to win congressional approval in Washington, where key members of both political parties have already expressed significant concerns. “I don’t expect to have much of a problem,” Trump said during the ceremony. The signing ceremony in and of itself represented a political victory for Trump, who has been eager to mark the deal with a formal photo opportunity alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and outgoing Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. It was not clear until just a day earlier that the ceremony would go through amid ongoing Canadian protests over US-imposed steel and aluminum tariffs

NFL Odds: Week 13 Betting Lines & Trends

Source: heavy.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 Week 13 is in a way already better than Week 12 in the NFL because arguably the two most exciting offensive clubs in the league, the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs, return to the field. We last saw them playing an epic Monday night game in Week 11 before going on the bye. All bye weeks have concluded for 2018. The Chiefs are atop the AFC standings and figure to stay there because they are 15.5-point NFL betting favorites – biggest number on the board at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com – on Sunday at the conference’s worst team, the Oakland Raiders. It’s the first time at least this century that Kansas City is more than a two-TD road favorite. The Chiefs have won and covered 11 of their past 15 in Oakland. The Rams, meanwhile, are 10-point favorites at the Detroit Lions. That is one of those tricky 10 a.m. Pacific time kickoffs, and the Lions have won six of their past seven at home against a West Coast team. The other huge

Trump has a new version of his business deals with Russia during the 2016 campaign

Source: theweek.com - Friday, November 30, 2018 Early Friday, tweeting from Argentina, President Trump laid out a breezy new version of his interactions with Russia during the 2016 presidential election, following revelations from longtime lawyer Michael Cohen that Trump's company was negotiating the construction of a Trump Tower Moscow until mid-June 2016, that Cohen had updated him regularly on the progress of those talks, and reports that Cohen had proposed to Kremlin officials gifting Russian President Vladimir Putin a $50 million penthouse in the building. Throughout 2016 and 2017, Trump had denied having any business dealings with Russia; on Thursday afternoon, he claimed Cohen is lying but said "there would have been nothing wrong if I did do it," because "when I'm running for president, that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to do business." Trump elaborated in his new tweets: Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when

Source: www.rocketnews.com - Thursday, November 29, 2018 Despite strong reviews and a fan petition , Netflix said today that it is cancelling “Daredevil” after three seasons. This is the latest Marvel series, after “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist,” that Netflix has cancelled recently, and is a sign that Marvel TV and Netflix’s multi-series agreement, signed in 2013, may be hitting some bumps. He then said Trump’s “favor” story is a bluff. “He brought him in because he was loyal as hell and he worked his ass off,” Cuomo said, noting Cohen did Trump’s bidding for a long time. He continued on: “Even that notion, ‘hey, he did me a favor, so I gave him a job. He’s weak. If you don’t admit to a lie, then you’re strong. If you turn with the government, then you’re a rat.’ — This is not the way a high elected official is supposed to talk.” Cuomo then said rather than sounding like it comes from the president of the United States, “it is the way guys talk to me when they are wearing orang

Why the Cowboys’ 13-10 win vs. the Saints was the messiest NFL game of the year

Source: www.sbnation.com - Thursday, November 29, 2018 Two likely playoff teams battled in a game that didn’t really look like a duel between contenders. The Dallas Cowboys pulled off the upset Thursday, snapping the New Orleans Saints ’ 10-game winning streak with a 13-10 win. Dak Prescott completed 24 of 28 passes for 248 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. He and Ezekiel Elliott combined for 98 rushing yards. And yet, the Cowboys only won by three points against a Saints team that floundered most of the night. That’s because the huge win for the Cowboys also happened the messiest, ugliest game of the 2018 season. It’s a win all the same for Dallas, but it sure wasn’t pretty. The Saints couldn’t do much of anything on offense Drew Brees never looks as bad as he did Thursday night. He was a frontrunner for MVP, but after struggling as much as he did against the Cowboys, his case for the award took a serious hit. Brees finished 18 of 28 passing for 127 yards with one touch

This is one of a series of visits to one class, on one day , in search of those building blocks at BU. The chemistry involved in dissolving a corpse is nowhere mentioned in the syllabus for The Myth of the Family in Classical American Literature, Film, and TV . But it was on the agenda when Breaking Bad director Adam Bernstein visited the class just before Thanksgiving. He screened a gruesome scene he directed, where school-teacher-turned-drug-kingpin Walter White teaches his surrogate son a lesson about the importance of chemistry in trying to dispose of a body without leaving a trace. Susan Mizruchi, a College of Arts & Sciences professor of English and director of the BU Center for the Humanities , invited Bernstein to her class, which focuses on depictions of the American family in Breaking Bad and another binge-worthy TV classic, Th

Report highlights 'perfect storm' that has hit main streets of many towns in Ireland

Source: www.irishexaminer.com - Thursday, November 29, 2018 Towns around the country are suffering "a perfect storm" that has decimated regional main streets, according to a major report by the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland. The report highlights the negative effects of increased online sales, poor broadband, and Dublin-centric- development. The report shows how increased costs, the legacy of out-of-town shopping centres, the dissolution of town councils and high vacancy rates are all contributing to a "perfect storm" with unemployment increasing in many small towns, particularly in the north-west. It looked at populations of between 1,500 and 10,000 in 200 towns across Ireland and published today's findings to coincide with its National Conference taking place today in Kilkenny. The report says restrictions on out-of-town shopping centres and the provision of high-speed broadband are just two measures that need to be implemented urgently if the dec
