Fantasy Comedy Light Novel Series Sasaki and Peeps Gets TV Anime Adaptation

Things are about to get sillier in the genre of parallel worlds, because a TV anime adaptation has just been announced for Sasaki and Peeps (known in Japan as Sasaki to Pii-chan), a series of comedic isekai fantasy light novels written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku about a salaryman who gets more than he bargains for when the pet bird he purchases turns out to be a great sage from a world of swords and sorcery.

Although the staff and the full cast for the TV anime have not yet been revealed, it has been revealed that Sasaki will be played by Tomokazu Sugita and Peeps will be played by Aoi Yuki.

The original Sasaki and Peeps light novels are published in Japan by Media Factory (a division of KADOKAWA) under their MF Bunko J imprint, and an English language version is also available from Yen Press, who describe the story of the series as follows:

SWORDS AND SORCERY! PSYCHIC BATTLES?! MAGICAL GIRLS?!?!

Tired and unfulfilled by his dead-end job, Sasaki decides to adopt Peeps, an adorable pet Java sparrow. Peeps, however, is really Piercarlo, a powerful sage from another world! After Peeps bestows Sasaki with magic and the ability to cross worlds, the two decide to export household items for profit in pursuit of a leisurely lifestyle. But when Sasaki’s new magic gets him mixed up in a whole other kind of supernatural struggle back in Japan, will it destroy his chances at realizing the relaxing life of his dreams?
