Matsuno Brothers Celebrate Manga's 60th & Anime's 6th Anniversaries in Memorial Illustration

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Fujio Akatsuka's original manga series, Osomatsu-kun, and the sixth anniversary of its anime sequel, Osomatus-san / Mr. Osomatsu, the latter's official website has posted a memorial illustration newly drawn by Akatsuka's last disciple, Katta Yoshi.

This anniversary illustration depicts the characters of the Mr. Osomatsu anime series, which was first produced in 2015 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Akatsuka's birth, with a touch of the original Osomatsu-kun manga style. The original characters from Osomatsu-san characters, such as Nya Hashimoto and the twin AI Omsubi, also appear. The site writes, "making it a piece that both Osomatsu-kun and Osomatsu-san fans will enjoy."

"~The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit~," the first part of the Mr. Osomatsu anime franchise's two-part sixth anniversary film series will be released in Japan theaters on July 8, 2022. The second part will follow in 2023.
