Yowamushi Pedal New Stage Play "SPARE BIKE" Reveals Illustration Key Visual by Manga Author

Marvelous has confirmed that the next show from the stage play adaptation of Wataru Watanabe's road bicycle racing-themed manga Yowamushi Pedal is based on the manga's spin-off series Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike, and also posted an illustration key visual provided by the manga author.

The spin-off series telling the past stories of the main characters that have not been told in the main series has released seven tankobon volumes so far, and its anime adaptation focusing on Yusuke Makishima (Sohoku High) and Jinpachi Todo (Hakone Academy) was previously released in September 2016.

The stage play series written/directed by Shatner Nishida was launched in 2012 and has become one of the most successful so-called "2.5 Dimensional" plays based on a Japanese manga. Its next 15th show "Stage Play Yowamushi Pedal: SPARE BIKE Chapter -Heroes-" is scheduled to be performed at Tennozu The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo from July 7 to 12, 2020, then at Mankai Namikiri Hall in Osaka on July 18 and 19. General sales of the advance tickets (Premium seat: 11,000 yen / Regular seat: 8,000 yen) for the two venues will begin on June 15.
