T.M. Revolution and Golden Bomber's Kirisho to Take Over Japanese Pokémon Journeys TV Anime Opening Theme
It was announced on July 30 that T.M. Revolution and Golden Bomber's Kirisho will be taking over from After the Rain in singing the opening theme to the Japanese version of the newest Pokémon TV anime series, Pokémon Journeys. Their rendition of “1 ・ 2 ・ 3” under the "band name" Nishikawa-kun to Kirisho (Nishikawa-kun and Kirisho) will debut on episode 32 of the series when it airs on TV Tokyo on August 9.
When the theme “1 ・ 2 ・ 3” was first announced, it was reported that multiple people would sing Mafumafu's composition, with After the Rain being the first band to perform the song. Now, Takanori Nishikawa (who performs under the name T.M. Revolution) and Kirisho will be taking the baton from Mafumafu and Soraru, rearranging the single, and putting their own mark on it.
Nishikawa wondered "Why ask me?" when he was first requested to do the song, but after learning the request came from Mafumafu himself, he decided to accept the request and keep the song "in good care."
Pokémon Journeys: The Series aired every Sunday night in Japan on TV Tokyo. Netflix has the rights to the TV anime series in the United States, releasing the first 12 episodes on June 12, with no date for the next batch.
