Kingdom Stage Play Unveils Its Four Main Cast Members

 

 

The official website for the forthcoming stage play adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's popular historical manga Kingdom has announced its four main cast members who will play the roles of Li Xin, Ying Zheng, and Li Piao.

The protagonist Li Xin will be played by two actors on different days - Hiroki Miura (23 / Monkey D. Luffy in Tokyo One Piece Tower's stage play) and Akira Takano (25 / Ichigo Kurosaki in ROCK MUSICAL BLEACH). Miura says, "I am very much looking forward to working with the wonderful staff and cast to create this work," and Takano adds, "I am truly humbled to play the role of Xin, but I want to do it with the determination to make my mark on history, feeling the same way as Xin."

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Ying Zheng and Li Piao will also be played by two actors on different days - Yuta Koseki (27 / Kosei Arima in Your Lie in April stage play) and Hikaru Makishima (27 / Shinra Kusakabe in Fire Force stage plays). Kosaki says, "Just as in the story, the cast members will be encouraging each other and inspiring themselves to keep going toward the goal of creating a great work of art." And Makisjima adds, "I love the role of Zheng, but I would like to play it well so that everyone can feel the hope that this Zheng can become Shi Huangdi."

 

 

 

 

The stage play Kingdom is  scheduled to be performed at Imperial Theatre in Tokyo in February 2023. From the 65-volume manga, the play will cover the episodes from its first to fifth volumes. It was also announced that Bunou Fujisawa (MARS RED) will write the script, Kazuya Yamada (Gone With the Wind stage play Japanese edition) will direct, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) will provide music.
