Okasaki made her voice acting debut in November 2017, with Rimuru being her first leading character. After her highly acclaimed performance in the role, she won the Rookie Actress Award at the 14th Seiyu Awards in 2020. Meanwhile, she made her singing debut under her own name in September 2021. So far, she has released two CD singles and one original album, and is steadily building a career as a solo singer.

Her digital single project's first song, "Maybe Heroine" is written by singer-songwriter Aoi Yamazaki and composed and arranged by KOUGA. The song is described as: "With its cute, bouncy sound and lyrics depicting the feelings of a girl in love who wants to be a 'heroine,' the song delivers a life-sized girl's emotions."

"The melody led me to write fancy, fantasy, and wavering lyrics," the song's lyric writer Aoi Yamazaki said. "I wanted to hear Okasaki-san's various voice colors, and I think it became a busy song with joy, anger, sadness, and anger, plus α. I was excited to write the song, wondering how she would sing it, but the richness of her expression was beyond my imagination, feeling like 'You got me!' I hope many people will enjoy singing and listening to it."

The song's composer KOUGA also commented: "The song has a light yet magnificent sound and dramatic development that makes you want to skip along when you listen to it! This was my first time working with Miho Okasaki-san. I was very impressed by her detailed and expressive singing during the recording session, considering the beat of the music and the world view of the lyrics. I think the song is full of expression. I would be happy if we could work together again!"

After the live streaming, Okasaki wrote on Twitter: "Thank you for watching the live streaming! Did you enjoy it? Be sure to check out the archives too! And...three consecutive months of digital releases! I was happy to tell you all! Starting with "Maybe Heroine!" Looking forward to the end of the month."
