Creamy Mami TV Anime Celebrates 40 Magical Years at Art Exhibition

 

40 years ago, Magical Angel Creamy Mami cast its spell on magical girl fans. The series was a star vehicle for its protagonist, singer Takako Ohta, as well as being one of the first media mix titles in the anime sphere. Lots of celebrations are already underway for this classic, with the latest being a massive art exhibition.

 

The Magical Angel Creamy Mami 40th Anniversary Exhibition is set to be the largest of its kind devoted to the anime, with more than 200 items on display. This will include both production materials for the anime and art by character designer Akemi Takada. Three new art pieces hav also been created for the occasion:

In addition to the art on display, visitors can watch the opening of the series on a big screen at the entrance, and take selfies at photo spots around the event space. Takada will also be on hand for an autograph session on August 11 at the Tokyo leg of the exhibition's tour.

 

Of course, there will also be new goods available! Keep an eye out for the merch drop at a later date.

 

The event is scheduled for two stops: July 28-August 13 in Tokyo, and October 27-November 12 in Osaka.
