Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid Anime Reveals Winter Theatrical Premiere, Teaser Visual

With the help of her elder brother's girlfriend, Mai Sakurajima, Kaede Azusagawa studies hard in a scene from the upcoming Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out theatrical anime film.

 

Ahead of the release of the first Rascal Does Not Dream… theatrical release later this month, the franchise announced the premiere window for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid alongside a brand new visual and the first gift to be given out to those who see Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out in its first week starting June 23.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid, which adapts the ninth light novel of the franchise, is scheduled to be released in Japan this Winter, with no solid date as of yet. Even so, advanced tickets for the film will go on sale on June 23 with a clear file of the above teaser visual as a bonus.

 

Speaking of bonuses, the theatrical gift for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out viewers will be an original story written by Hajime Kamoshida called “Seishun Buta Yaro wa Animal Land no Yume wo Miru (Rascal Does Dream of an Animal Land).” The short story follows Sakuta, his sister Kaede and Mai going to see the pandas at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.

Labeled the "Senior High School Student Completion Compilation," both theatrical animations adapt the novels Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid. The new features are directed by Soichi Masui and feature animation production by CloverWorks and with the first, Sister Venturing Out, set to release on June 23 in Japan while Knapsack Kid gets a Winter release.

 

Crunchyroll currently streams the Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime, and describes the story as follows:

 

Puberty syndrome – Abnormal experiences rumored on the internet to be caused by sensitivity and instability during adolescence. This year, Sakuta Azusagawa, a second-year student at a high school near Enoshima, meets several girls that are experiencing this “puberty syndrome.” For instance, he meets a wild bunny girl in the library. She turns out to be an actress on hiatus, Mai Sakurajima, who is also his senior at the school. For some reason, no one else can see this enchanting girl. How did she become invisible…?
