Voice Actress Momo Asakura Gets Chibi-style Promotional Character "Komomo"

During the live-streaming program to celebrate her 28th birthday on June 25, voice actress/singer Momo Asakura (Iroha Tamaki in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story) introduced Komomo, a chibi-style promotional character for her forthcoming third album "Apiacere," for the first time.

After started voice acting activities in 2012, she formed voice actress unit TrySail in 2015, alongside Sora Amamiya and Shiina Natsukawa, then made her solo singer debut in 2016. Her highly-anticipated third original album is scheduled to be released in Japan on July 27, 2022.

Komomo was designed/produced by Aquastar, a Tokyo-based company that plans and produces illustrations and digital content. She was created not as Momo Asakura's own mini-character, but as an independent character whose aim is to increase the range of activities with her own story and worldview without destroying the image of Asakura. In the future, the company plans to produce various types of Komomo in anticipation of a wide range of developments, such as LINE stamps and merchandise, as well as SNS activities.
