Two weeks prior to the TV premiere of Tokyo Mew Mew New in Japan, the anime's five-member VA unit Smewthie posted a teaser music video for the opening theme song "Cat!!Shite SuperGirls," as well as their brand new artist visuals.
The opening theme and the ending theme "Tokimeki☆Ichigo Ichie" will be released digitally first on July 6, then the CD single including both songs will be available on August 17. A full version music video for "Cat!!Shite SuperGirls" will be posted on the Tokyo Mew Mew franchise's official YouTube channel on July 10, five days after the new anime's TV premiere in Japan.

As part of the 20th-anniversary of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga created by Reiko Yoshida (story) and Mia Ikumi (arts), as well as the 65th-anniversary of Kodansha's Nakayoshi shoujo magazine in which the manga was serialized, the new anime project was launched in April 2020. The new TV anime series Tokyo Mew Mew New is set to premiere in Japan on July 5, 2022.
