The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Reaches A Milestone of One Million Ticket Sales in Japan

 

 

The Nakano Quintuplets are still going strong in Japanese theaters. The official Twitter for The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie confirmed on June 14 that its domestic ticket sales had reached a milestone of one million in 26 days since its release.

The 136-minute sequel film to the two-season TV anime adaptation of Negi Haruba's romantic comedy manga was released in 108 theaters across Japan on May 20, 2022. Despite its small number of theaters, it made its second place debut with an impressive 267 million yen (2.09 million USD) on 200,000 admissions. The film was also critically acclaimed and ranked No.1 on Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 4.15/5.0 based on 520 reviews.

 

As reported, the film already surpassed the one billion yen mark on June 7. In its fourth weekend, it still ranked fourth, bringing its total to 1.39 billion yen (10.94 million USD) to become the fourth top-grossing Japanese anime film of this year, behind Detective Conan The Bride of Halloween (8.6 billion yen), Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 (2.64 billion yen), and Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chimpuden (1.88 billion yen).
