Black Clover Trends as TV Anime Comes to an End Today

Black Clover

It's hard to believe, but the end of the Black Clover TV anime is finally upon us. After announcing plans to close out the adaptation of Yuki Tabata's manga back in February, episode 170 is now available to stream on Crunchyroll, and all the buzz about the final chapter's debut managed to get the series trending on Twitter today.

Things popped off quickly in Japan as the episode aired:

The episode is appropriately titled "The Faraway Future," and it completes a run that first kicked off on TV Tokyo back on October 3, 2017. When the series began it was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at Pierrot. At episode 153, the director and head writer changed to Ayataka Tanemura and Kanichi Katou, respectively. The manga series, written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata, has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since February 16, 2015, and continues on past the TV anime series.

The last preview we got before the finale aired:

Speaking of faraway futures, while this may be the end of the TV anime, there's still more animated Black Clover on the horizon. A movie was revealed over the weekend, so stay tuned for more details on the theatrical feature as they're announced.
