Last year, manga artist Suu Morishita ended Wakamen ~The Mineral Boys~, a series about different types of seaweed depicted as handsome men. A year later, two of them are resurfacing for a tasty soup collab.
Riken has enlisted the manga's leads, the Wakame Brothers, as spokes-characters for their line of seaweed soup. In a collaboration surrounding Wakame Day (May 5), the company will release new material starring the Wakame Brothers, talking about the nutritional benefits of the company's offerings.
So far, the collaboration features new art of the leads:
The collaboration will also include videos starring the brothers. Playing both of them will be Kensho Ono. Ono has previously starred as Giorno Giovanna in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko's Basketball.
The Wakamen collaboration kicks off next month and will run throughout April and May, and kicks off with a lottery drawing for a special Wakamen QUO card.
