Games, manga, and CDs aside, we all know the ultimate goal for mixed media projects is a tie-in anime. High school girl DJ franchise D4DJ is the latest to make that leap, with a solid crew behind it.
Created by Bushiroad—the team behind BanG Dream! and Love Live! School Idol Project—D4DJ centers on quartets of high school girls combining idol performance with live DJ skills. So far the project consists of five groups, with a sixth, Lyrical Lily, set to debut. The group recently held a live online performance with 19 of its 20 members, as well as launching a music video for flagship group Happy Around!
The series will officially be titled D4DJ: First Mix. A new teaser visual (seen above) features Happy Around! members Maho Akashi (L) and Rinku Aimoto (R). The show will be produced at CGI anime studio Sanzigen (BanG Dream! seasons 2 and 3, Sakura Wars: The Animation). Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam 00) is set to direct.
More information, including release dates and official links, will be announced in the near future.
