It's been three days since Aya Hirano sent out the call for people to spend their time at home dancing the 'Hare Hare Yukai,' a dance which appeared as the ending theme for the 2006 TV anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Yesterday, voice actors from the Kyoto Animation produced series, Tomokazu Sugita (Kyon) and Minoru Shiraishi (Taniguchi) followed the brigade leader's orders and danced. Today, Pokémon superfan and cat lover Shoko Nakagawa (also known as Shokotan) heeded the call and did her best.

Shokotan mentioned in the above tweet that she loves Aya Hirano (who doesn't?) and Haruhi Suzumiya, but that she's "a nerdy person that lacks in physical activity." Though at this point, who isn't lacking in some exercise? This would be the "first time in a long time [she's] been active." Hirano thanked Shokotan on Twitter for the dance and said that she "felt the love" emanating from it.
An all too familiar cat for fans of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya that Aya Hirano drew
On Hirano's blog, she thanked both KADOKAWA and Lantis for their support in the 'Hare Hare Yukai' movement, who provided Hirano with permission to use the video and music, as well as the source files. She also thanks Sugita, who despite his protests, apparently contacted Hirano immediately after learning about the movement. A message at the bottom of the page wished that "the energy from everyone" would reach those at Kyoto Animation.
The poor soul also mentioned that she rewatched all of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the anime film, noting that yes, that did include all of Endless Eight.
Who would you like to see dance the 'Hare Hare Yukai' next? Let us know down below!
