The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? Blu-ray Box to Come with Newly-written Novel by The Author

 

 

Before its premiere in Japan on April 2, the Blu-ray box of the spring 2020 TV anime adaptation of Y.A.'s fantasy light novel Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! / The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? is already set to be released on August 26, 2020. And it is also confirmed that the box's bonus booklet will include a newly-written novel by the author.

 

In addition to the anime's 12 episodes and the booklet, the 26,400-yen (about 244 US dollars) box will come with its original soundtrack CD. All the episodes are included in one Blu-ray disc, and its total running time is 276 minutes. The novel's illustrator/original character designer Fuzichoco draws the box's outer case illustration, and you can see its rough sketch below. 

 

 

 

 

Those who pre-order the item at selected Japanese stores, including Amazon Japan, Animate, and Gamers, will get an A3-size clear poster drawn by Fuzichoco on its release day. See a rough sketch for the poster below.

Meanwhile, the first smartphone game app inspired by the novel, Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! Mou Hitori no Tenseisha (The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?: Another one who has reincarnated) has been in development, and its key visual is revealed today. The game's official Twitter has already started accepting pre-registrations.

 

The simulation RPG is based on the original plot provided by the novel author Y.A. It is set in "another world" that is synchronized with the anime world. As "another one who has reincarnated" with mysteries, the player travels to an adventure with Wendelin and other characters to save the world on the verge of collapse.
