GeGeGe no Kitaro Character Designer Thanks Fans for Their 2-Year Support with Twitter Art

After the broadcast of its final 97th episode "The World You See Isn't All There Is" in Japan this morning, the official Twitter for the sixth GeGeGe no Kitaro TV anime posted a newly-drawn illustration featuring all of its main characters to thank the fans for their two-year support, saying "We look forward to seeing you all again somewhere!" The art is provided by the anime's character designer/chief animation director Kakeri Shimizusora.

Nine years after the fifth series that aired for 100 episodes from April 2007 to March 2009, the sixth TV anime based on Shigeru Mizuki's horror/supernatural manga premiered in Japan on April 1, 2018, and ended its two-year run today on March 29, 2020.

The anime's producer Akira Takami also says on Twitter:

"How did you enjoy the sixth season of 'Gegege no Kitaro'? There were various difficulties during the production of the show. I personally lost many things. But 'Kitaro' supported me. I can proudly say that it was a very happy two years. I hope it will remain in your heart forever. Thank you very much."
