The official YouTube channel for 20-year-old anime voice actress Sumire Morohoshi has started streaming a 100-second music video for her first single song "Tsumujikaze" (Whirlwind), the OP theme song for the upcoming second season of the TV anime Ascendance of a Bookworm to premiere on April 4.
Morohoshi is best known as Ichigo Hoshimiya, the protagonist of the first half of the Aikatsu! TV anime series (2012-2016). After singing many character songs for various anime series, she finally made her solo singer debut under her own name by releasing her first mini-album "smile," which included the anime's first season OP song "Masshiro" (Pure White), from Flying Dog on October 30, 2019.
"Tsumujikaze" is set to be released as her first single on April 29. And the single also includes a cover version of "Kagayaki no Etude," the theme song for the 2014 anime film Aikatsu! The Movie. The original version used in the film was sung by Waka from STAR☆ANIS, Ichigo's singing voice, not by Morohoshi, Ichigo's character voice.
