Oshi no Ko Anime Opening Theme Reaches 100 Million Combined Views and Streams Worldwide

The First Times News confirmed today that the cumulative total worldwide stream and video views of YOASOBI's "Idol," the opening theme for the spring 2023 TV anime Oshi no Ko, has reached 100 million in just two weeks. 

 

The two-member unit's 19th digital single was released worldwide on April 12. The song not only topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for two weeks in a row but also gained a great deal of popularity on the global charts. Below is a list of international charts where the song has ranked.

The music video of the song was posted simultaneously on YouTube, and as previously reported, it immediately reached 20 million views in only six days. As of this writing, the video's cumulative total views has reached 47.32 million, surpassing the unit's previous second CD single song "Shukufuku" (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury first season opening theme).
