The Wings of Honnêamise Director Hiroyuki Yamaga Helms TV Anime Forest of Piano 2nd Season

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Isshiki's Piano no Mori/Forest of Piano manga announced today that 56-year-old Hiroyuki Yamaga, best known for his and Gainax's feature film debut work Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise in 1987, is newly served as director for its upcoming second season, in place of the first season's Gaku Nakatani.

 

After working at DreamWorks as writer/CG supervisor from 2005 to 2013, Nakatani made his directorial debut with the first season. The reason for the change is not mentioned.

 

In addition, the second season's new ED song "Hajimari no Basho" (The place of the beginning) is performed by 28-year-old voice actress/singer Rie Murakwa (Hotaru Ichijo in Non Non Biyori, Ram in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World). It will be released as her sixth solo single on February 20, 2019.

 

 

Following the first season aired for 12 episodes from April to July of this year, the 12-episode second season

is set to premiere on NHK General TV at 24:10 on January 27, 2019 (JST)
