The original Gimai Seikatsu light novels are published by Media Factory (a division of KADOKAWA) under their MF Bunko J imprint, and a manga adaptation with artwork by Yumika Kanade is also serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Shōnen Ace Plus manga magazine. The story of the series follows Yuta Asamura and Saki Ayasa, a pair of high school age step siblings who begin living together after their parents remarry. Yuta is initially distrustful of women because his mother's affair resulted in his parents getting divorced, but he gradually opens up to Saki as they share daily life and a home with each other.
