Dragon Ball: The Breakers Survival Game Gets New Trailer With Frieza Unveil And Release Date

Back in 2021, we reported on a new Dragon Ball game announced by Bandai Namco in collaboration with developer Dimps that combined the Dragon Ball universe with a unique multiplayer hook in Dragon Ball: The Breakers, which is set in the same continuity as the Xenoverse game franchise. Today, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer embedded below detailing the game's many features and editions for pre-order, as well as unveiling the second major Raider character in Frieza that players will have a chance to square off against when the game launches in October:

As Bandai Namco describes the game, players are thrust into the role of Survivors tasked to take down Raiders, with major Dragon Ball villains serving in that role. Players can choose to work together through asymmetrical online multiplayer or face Raiders alone, with extensive character customization available. The game will be available for PS4, Xbox Series consoles and PC via Steam alongside the previously announced Switch version, of which multiple editions will also be offered with varying bonuses depending on version and platform.

The game will launch on October 14th after a Closed Network Test where the newly announced Raider Frieza and the previously revealed Raider Cell will be available to play. Survivors will also have access to Oolong (Survivor Skin) and Bulma (Survivor Skin) during the Test. Details on when to play are listed below:

  • Session 1: Aug. 5 - 7:00 p.m. PT – 11:00 p.m. PT
  • Session 2: Aug. 6 – 5:00 a.m. PT – 9:00 a.m. PT
  • Session 3: Aug. 6 – 11:00 a.m. PT – 3:00 p.m. PT
  • Session 4: Aug. 6 – 7:00 p.m. PT – 11:00 p.m. PT

An Open Beta Test will be organized at a later date with more details to be announced soon.
