Check Out Mackenyu-starring Knights of the Zodiac Live-action Film Behind-the-Scenes Clip

Toei Movie's official YouTube channel has started streaming a two-minute behind-the-scenes clip from the forthcoming live-action film adaptation of Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya / Knights of the Zodiac action fantasy manga.

The clip, which was screened for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con International on July 23, shows the cast members taking on the challenges of filming of the highly-anticipated adaptation of the legendary manga. The tune featured in the clip is "Pegasus Fantasy," the first opening theme song for the Saint Seiya TV anime series produced by Toei Animation in the mid-late 1980s.

It was also announced that the film will be released worldwide in 2023. Toei will distribute the film in Japan, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisition will distribute the film outside of China. Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: Uprising) is cast as the protagonist Seiya, alongside Madison Iseman, Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, Diego Tinoco, and Mark Dacascos. Tomasz Bagiński (The Witcher) serves as director on a screenplay by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken.
