Science Fiction TV Anime SAKUGAN Reveals Character PV

Rufus and Gagumber prepare to set off on a treasure-seeking expedition to Crystal Garden in a scene from the upcoming SAKUGAN TV anime.

 

SAKUGAN, an upcoming TV anime based on the science fiction novel by Nekotarou Inui about mecha pilots who explore the wilderness between human space colonies in the far-flung future, has released a brief preview video highlighting the character of Rufus.

 

In the 15 second clip, Rufus (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa) and his partner Gagumber (CV: Hiroki Touchi) prepare to embark on a treasure-hunting expedition to Crystal Palance. Rufus's younger brother expresses his desire to come along as well, but Rufus gently refuses.

 

 

The story of SAKUGAN is described as follows:

 

One day in the distant future. Humans live shoulder to shoulder in “colonies” separated by rock. Outside the colonies, a dangerous undeveloped area called “the Labyrinth” is expanding. Those who risk their lives to develop “the Labyrinth”, who mark out the undeveloped areas, are known as “Markers”. A young girl, Memempu, who wants to be a Marker one day, and a man, Gagumber, who used to be one. This mismatched father and daughter now take on the Labyrinth! “If there’s no path, dig one!” Adventure Mecha Action presented by SATELIGHT to start airing in autumn 2021!

SAKUGAN is directed by Junichi Wada and features animation production by SATELIGHT. The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan during the fall season of 2021.
