After nearly two months, the crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the production costs for the 10th-anniversary Penguindrum compilation film ended with the campaign raising 1,051% of the asking funds. This means that not only is the film, which will be titled RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM, fully funded, but excess funds will go towards improving the animation and create new songs.
The crowdfunding campaign, which was only open to Japanese residents, raised 105,192,960 yen (US$957,606) against a funding goal of just 10 million yen. As previously mentioned, excess funds will be going towards the production of the film, as well as other activities for the 10th anniversary of the TV anime series, including a special backer-only screening of the completed film with director Kunihiko Ikuhara, as well as general screenings of the film and merchandise for the celebration.

The campaign was fully funded in roughly 150 seconds, bringing in 10 million yen (US$90,380), after the campaign went live on April 8, with backers receiving goods, t-shirts, booklets, and their names in the credits of the film.
This is the first part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations for Penguindrum, with other projects in the works–though these haven't been confirmed as of yet.
