Switch owners will soon travel to Halcyon to experience one of 2019's most rewarding adventures. Developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Private Division announced that The Outer Worlds is coming to Switch on March 6. If you are planning to buy a physical copy, you'll get a box, but this is yet another Switch game that is download-only. You'll only get a code in the box, not a game cartridge. The Switch version is handled by developer Virtuous.
We haven't gotten our hands on the Switch version and can't speak to its quality yet, but last year's PC and console versions were fantastic. In Game Informer's review of those versions, Joe Juba gave The Outer Worlds a rating of 9.25 out of 10, and said it "deftly presents options beyond simple 'stealth or melee' scenarios; depending on how you build your character and which tasks you complete, you can pursue a wealth of available options with rewarding outcomes."
Much like the Fallout games it draws inspiration from, The Outer Worlds empowers you with choices that can dramatically change how you see and interact with the world. It also transports you to a wild science-fiction setting filled with hostile aliens, strange technologies, and some of most beautiful exotic backdrops you'll see in a game. It's well worth venturing into if you haven't already had the pleasure to do so.
