A dramatic new trailer has been published for Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai The clouds gather ("Twittering Birds Never Fly The clouds gather"), an upcoming anime theatrical film based on the Yakuza / "boy's love" manga by Kou Yoneda about a masochistic and unrestrained Yakuza boss who takes a romantic interest in his latest bodyguard.
The new trailer (below) highlights "Moratorium" by Omoinotake, the official theme song for the film.
The original Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai manga is serialized in Taiyoh Tosho's ihr HertZ josei manga magazine, and an English language version is also published by Digital Manga Publishing under the title Twittering Birds Never Fly. Digital Manga Publishing describes the story of the series as follows:
The sexually masochistic yakuza boss, Yashiro, isn't the type to warm up to others easily. But when Chikara Doumeki, his newly hired bodyguard, catches his interest, he reconsiders his "hands-off" policy with subordinates. As Yashiro's invitations fail, the yakuza boss finds out his bodyguard has a very personal reason for staying at arm's length.
Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai The clouds gather is directed by Kaori Makita and features animation production by GRIZZLY. The film hits theaters in Japan on February 15, 2020.
