Leo Ieiri Performs MAJOR 2nd's 2nd Season OP Theme "Answer"

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of MAJOR 2nd, the ongoing sequel to Takuya Mitsuda's baseball-themed manga MAJOR, announced today that 25-yeay-old singer Leo Ieiri performs the OP theme song "Answer" for its forthcoming second season.

Ieiri made her professional singer debut in February 2012 when she was 17. This is her fourth anime theme song work in her eight-year career, following "Sabrina" (1st single/Tv anime Toriko ED), "Jyunjo" (7th single/TV anime Dragon Ball Kai ED), and "Kono Sekai de" (Anime film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection theme song).

Message from Leo Ieiri:

"The harder you try your best, the more you lose your way, cry, and fall. That's the only way to feel alive and update your answers. This is a song for me, who keep thinking about how to face my songs, and you."

And two more voice cast memebrs are also announced. Rie Murakawa (Hotaru Ichijo in Non Non Biyori) is cast as Anita Kabashima, the catcher of Furin Private Junior High baseball club, while Sumire Uesaka (Yuni /Cure Cosmo in Star Twinkle PreCure) voices Chisato Fujii, the center fielder of the team.

Message from Rie Murakawa:

"I am very happy to be part of Major Second and very grateful for playing Anita. Anita has a distinctive way of speaking, so I would like to discuss this later!"

Message from Sumire Uesaka:

"I have never touched baseball before, so I am doing voice recording sessions with many new discoveries ...! I would like to express the charm of Chisato, who has both soft cuteness and passion for baseball!"

The second season is set to premiere on NHK Educational TV on April 4, 2020. The first season's Ayumu Watanabe (After the Rain) continues to direct at OLM.Inc. Mitaka Matsumoto (Angels of Death) newly serves as the anime character designer in place of the first's Kenichi Onuki.
