Some unfortunate news for all you good little kids out there: Uramichi Oniisan, an upcoming TV anime based on the dark comedy manga by Gaku Kuze about a children's TV show host with a surprisingly grim and cynical personality, has been postponed from its original broadcast window due to "production issues".

Originally scheduled to broadcast in 2020, Uramichi Oniisan is now scheduled to broadcast in 2021. No further details about the exact release date have yet been revealed.

The Uramichi Oniisan manga is serialized in Ichijinsha's comic POOL digital magazine. The story follows Uramichi Omota, a 31-year-old man who works as a gymnastics instructor on a children's educational TV program called "Maman to Together" (a parody of NHK Educational TV's long-running program "Okaasan to Issho / Together with Mama"). While Uramichi has a bright and happy demeanor, he is mentally unstable and he often shows his off-putting adult dark side to children.

The Uramichi Oniisan TV anime is directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama and features animation production by Studio Blanc..
