Update: Added in the cover of the AX guide from our earlier Anime Expo Lite post.

It looks like Square Enix's The World Ends with You—which kicked off as a dual-screen action-RPG on Nintendo DS back in 2007—is getting the anime treatment. A Twitter account launched to tease the project, simply tweeting "The Animation" and pointing curious fans toward a countdown site.
There's currently no information, but the countdown is building up to further details at Anime Expo Lite on Friday, July 3 at 6:00pm Pacific Time. Stay tuned to see what's in store.

The cover of the previously posted AX programming guide gave us a very subtle hint...

A mobile port of the original game followed in 2012, and The World Ends with You was most recently released on Switch as The World Ends with You: Final Remix in 2018.
