The noodle passion still burns strong in the heart of Koizumi, the titular ramen-loving heroine from the Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles manga and TV anime, because the fictional ramen enthusiast is teaming up with Nanyo City in Yamagata Prefecture to promote a real life ramen rally in December of 2019.
The collaboration celebrates the "Nanyo City Ramen Card Rally 2019" event, which encourages participants to visit various ramen shops in Nanyo City to collect cards which can then be exchanged for prizes, including lottery style drawings and a special prize for collecting cards from all of the participating shops. The rally runs until February 28, 2020.
In addition to providing original artwork for the ramen rally, manga author Naru Narumi also illustrates the cover of the December issue of NANYO (above), the Nanyo City Public Relations magazine, which features Koizumi acting as a goodwill ambassador.
A special chapter set in Nanyo City will also be published in the Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles manga, which is serialized in Takeshobo's Manga Life Storia seinen manga magazine as well as the Storia Dash website. The special chapter is scheduled to be published during the Spring season of 2020.
