Throughout his long history, the pint-sized sleuth of Case Closed has faced down just about everything imaginable. To kick off 2020, Conan will be going toe-to-toe with Godzilla and a Kamen Rider!... sort of.
A new four-part special titled Detective Conan: Kaiju Gomera vs. Kamen Yaiba will feature appearances from some familiar-looking TV and movie stars. The story follows up on the events of the series's 2017 film, The Crimson Love Letter, in which the Nichiuri TV Station was bombed. Conan and his friends are invited to the rebuilt facility for an advance screening of Gomera vs. Kamen Yaiba, starring a Godzilla/Gamera hybrid and a familiar tokusatsu hero. But it's not long before another threat arises.
The four-episode special event was created to celebrate the opening of the new Yomiuri TV building in Osaka, from which Case Closed is broadcast nationwide and which served as the model for Nichiuri TV in The Crimson Love Letter.
Detective Conan: Kaiju Gomera vs. Kamen Yaiba will air once a week for four weeks starting January 4.
