Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Manga Has 25 Million Copies in Print

Shueisha confirmed on November 27 that Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga will reach the accomplishment of 25 million copies printed with the release of its next 18th tankobon volume on December 4, 2019. And for the first time in the series, the volume will have one million first copies.

As the author's first serialization work, the manga has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since February 2016, and its TV anime adaptation was aired for 26 episodes from April to September in 2019. When production of the TV anime was announced in June 2018, the manga's total circulation was reported as 2.5 million copies with 11 volumes, then the number grew to 12 million copies with 16 volumes by September 29, 2019, when the TV anime was ended. It means the manga's cumulative number of copies has more than doubled over the past two months.

As reported yesterday, Shueisha has also reported that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has become the second top-selling manga of 2019 by selling a massive 10.8 million copies, behind only Eiichiro Oda's One Piece with 12.7 million copies.
