Toko, a young girl, is filled with trepidation after she is rescued from Fire Demons in a scene from the upcoming The Fire Hunter TV anime.

A dramatic new preview video and the opening theme song performer have been revealed for The Fire Hunter (known in Japan as Hikaru no Oh), an upcoming TV anime based on the fantasy novels written by Reiko Hinata and illustrated by Akihio Yamada about a world where humanity lives in constant peril from monsters made of fire.

The opening theme for the series, entitled "Usotsuki" ("Liar"), is performed by Leo Ieiri.

The original The Fire Hunter novels are published in Japan by Holp Shuppan. Crunchyroll describes the story of the series as follows:

Outside the magical barriers lies a world overrun by fiery beasts known as Flame Demons, and the only ones who can protect humanity are the Fire Hunters. In the dark woods where the beasts roam is where Toko, a young villager, is rescued from attack by one of these skilled trackers, Koshi. But their meeting was no accident, and a new destiny begins.

A key visual for the upcoming The Fire Hunter TV anime featuring a shooting start above a city-scape, the titular Fire Hunters posing dramatically along a ridge, and the heroine Toko being present with a sickle by a large dog.
