J-Novel Club Announces New Licenses and Partnerships at Anime NYC

English light novel and manga publisher J-Novel Club had a bunch of announcements to make during its Anime NYC industry panel today, including a handful of partnerships and some new licenses. Among the new team-ups is a print publishing partnership with Yen Press, which will involve creating print editions of J-Novel Club's digital offerings under a newly created imprint.

 

Through this partnership, Yen Press will produce and distribute high-quality physical editions of light novels and manga series under the J-Novel Club label, with the latter's translation and editing styles kept intact. The first titles to be announced for print are:

 

  • Hell Mode by Hamuo with illustrations by Mo
  • The Misfit of Demon King Academy by SHU with illustrations by Shizumayoshinori
  • My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! by Tsuyoshi Fujitaka with illustrations by Chisato Naruse
  • My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! —AΩ— (Manga) by Hanamaru Nanto

J-Novel Club also announced a partnership with DRECOM Media that includes the acquisition of GOBLIN SLAYER author Kumo Kagyu and Overlord illustrator so-bin's Blade & Bastard light novel. The eBook will be published simultaneously in English alongside the Japanese release.

 

 

Other partnerships include an audiobook collaboration with RBmedia, which will produce audiobooks based on J-Novel Club titles starting with:

  • Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire by Hayaken
  • Black Summoner by Doufu Mayoi
  • How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom by Dojyomaru

Two more audiobooks are on the way in another partnership—this time with Podium—which will result in the production of audiobook series based on Patora Fuyuhara's In Another World With My Smartphone and Schuld's Min-Maxing My TRPG Build in Another World.
