Including the top-grossing film of all-time, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, two anime films made the top ten list this year, which was two less than last year's four (Weathering With You, Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire, ONE PIECE STAMPEDE, Doraemon: Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration).

As we have reported repeatedly, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train has dominated the Japanese box office with overwhelming force. Coming in fourth was the live-action feature film adaptation of Hiroyuki Nishimori's comedy manga Kyo Kara Ore Wa!!, which made 5.37 billion yen (52 million USD) to become the top-grossing Japanese live-action film of this year. It has also become the director Yuichi Fukuda (Gintama live-action film series)'s highest-grossing film in his career.

And, Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur, the 40th feature film in the Doraemon anime franchise, ranks seventh with 3.35 billion yen (32 million USD), which was 34 percent down from 5.02 billion yen (48 million USD) earned by the 39th film Doraemon: Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration in 2019.
