Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba continues to break records, including the ones the franchise itself set. Today, the Japanese tracking website Oricon reported that of the top 20 spots of the best selling manga chart of the past week, Demon Slayer took all of them. Beyond that, all 22 volumes of the manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, took up 22 slots of the full Top 30 the Oricon sales chart, marking the first-ever "1st to 22nd place monopoly".
Oricon reported that volume 22 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, which released in Japan on October 2, had sold an estimated 326,000 copies over the October 19 to October 25 week, taking the top spot for the 4th week in a row. This is the 6th time Demon Slayer has taken up the entire top 10, and the first time any series has taken the top 22 spots.
The series on a whole, according to Oricon, has sold 90.52 million physical copies of the manga (Oricon doesn't track digital sales). This means the series has very likely exceeded the 100 million copies printed and digital sales milestone from September. With volume 23 to be released on December 4 – the final one –, it'll be interesting to see how much more the series can sell, especially when Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train continues to steamroll through Japanese box office records.
