Violet Evergarden Spin-Off Film is Set to be Released as Planned on September 6

The official website for Violet Evergarden: Gaiden - Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou - (Violet Evergarden: Spin-Off - Eternity and Auto Memory Doll -), a spin-off film from Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden franchise, opened on July 27 and confirmed that it is set to be released in 73 theaters across Japan as originally planned on September 6, 2019. And its theatrical run will be extended to three weeks from the originally-planned two weeks.

 

The film is directed by Haruka Fujita, who has worked as the series director for the Violet Evergarden TV anime series in 2018, and also as episode director for its first, second, fifth, and 13th episodes.  

 

 

 

In addition, the film's ED theme song "Amy" is performed by Minori Chihara, who sang the TV series' ED song "Michishirube." The CD single of the song is scheduled to be released on September 4, 2019, two days prior to the opening of the film.

The all-new feature film Violet Evergarden The Movie is also still set to be released in Japan on January 10, 2020.
