Cygames' Umamusume: Pretty Derby mobile game started its service for iOS and Android in Japan on February 24, 2021. To celebrate its first anniversary, the franchise's official YouTube channel has started streaming a seven-minute special anime clip.

The story begins at the entrance ceremony of the Tracen Academy in spring. Kitasan Black (CV: Hinaki Yano), still unaware of her dream, begins to pursue her aspirations with a clean slate, while Satono Diamond (Hina Tachibana) attempts to win the GI to fulfill her family's long-cherished wish. No one knows what the outcome of the race will be for both of them as they set off with their hearts full of hope.

The clip was directed by Kei Oikawa, who worked on the two-season TV anime in 2018 and 2021, at the second season's anime production studio Studio KAI. The ED theme song "Ambitious World" sung by Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond will be available on music distribution services on February 24.
