ODDTAXI Movie Officially Announced, Will Stream on Crunchyroll

ODDTAXI Movie

After a teaser countdown video on the ODDTAXI official YouTube channel went live, the official accounts announced that ODDTAXI will receive a movie adaptation titled Eiga ODDTAXI: In the Woods, which is set to premiere in Japan on April 1, 2022.

Crunchyroll is also announcing today that the movie will stream on the service, with details forthcoming on the release. Check out the promo below.

Shortly after the TV broadcast, the series held a Blu-Ray crowdfunding campaign that achieved 6,038 pre-orders, far exceeding its original 300 pre-order goal.

ODDTAXI aired earlier this year on Japanese TV as an original TV anime series, with the series streaming on Crunchyroll at the same time. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

This town should look familiar, but suddenly, it's not. The taxi driver Odokawa lives a very mundane life. He has no family, doesn't really hang out with others, and he's an oddball who is narrow-minded and doesn't talk much. The only people he can call his friends are his doctor, Gouriki and his classmate from high school, Kakibana. All of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. The college student who wants to be noticed online, Kabasawa. A nurse with secrets, Shirakawa. A comedy duo, the Homosapiens... All these mundane conversations somehow lead to a girl who's gone missing.
