LiSA &Yoko Takahashi Post Video Messages for Their Kohaku Uta Gassen Performance

 

 

As reported, anisong singer LiSA and Yoko Takahashi will perform at this year's Kohaku Uta Gassen, NHK's annual New Year's Eve special live-broadcasting music program. After the first day of its rehearsal on December 28, the two posted short video messages on the program's official Twitter.

 

As the top performer on the show, LiSA will sing "Akeboshi," the OP theme for the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc, first. Then, in the special segment entitled "Colorful Special Program - Songs That Give Us Courage for Tomorrow -," she will sing "Homura," the theme song for the 2020 feature film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, with anime visuals projected on the stage. 

 

 

"Hello, I'm LiSA. The 72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen is about to start! I, LiSA, will sing as the top performer. Don't miss it, from the very beginning! Please cheer me in front of the TV! Thank you!!"

 

 

 

Also in the "Songs That Give Us Courage for Tomorrow" segment, Yoko Takahashi, who has served as the official ambassador of the Evangelion series, will sing "A Cruel Angel's Thesis," the OP theme for the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV anime, for the first time at the Kohaku stage.

 

 

"Good day, I'm Yoko Takahashi. The 72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen is finally approaching! It has been 26 years since the Evangelion TV series began in 1995. I heard that a lot of people saw Evangelion this year thanks to the movie. I will be participating in this show as a living witness to the last 26 years to represent Evangelion. I hope that you will enjoy it. I will do my best. See you soon!"

 

 

 

 

 

The 72nd Kohaku Uta Gassen will be aired on NHK from 19:30 to 23:45 on December 31, 2021 (JST).
