Following its No.1 debut at Japanese box office last weekend, the official website for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Final, the second live-action film adaptation of Aka Akasaka's romantic comedy manga, posted a two-minute special clip featuring its theme song "Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou" (Thinking of you on a moonlit night when love is falling) performed by Johnny & Associates' idol group King & Prince.
The group previously performed the first film's theme song "koi-wazurai" in 2019 and its 24-year-old member Sho Hirano has played the film's male protagonist Miyuki Shirogane. "Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou" is set to be released as their eighth single on October 6, 2021.
The film was released in 319 theaters in Japan on August 20, 2021, then made 164 million yen (1.49 million USD) on 124,500 admissions on its first Saturday and Sunday, which was enough to take the No.1 spot of the weekend box office ranking.
